19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since March of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 different events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He saved four early chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
